Saiu a lista dos indicados ao MTV Video Music Awards desse ano. Beyoncé e Lady Gaga lideram com 9 indicações cada, seguidas de Britney Spears, com 7 indicações, além de Kanye West, Eminem e a banda Coldplay, cada um com 4 indicações. Os vencedores serão anunciados no dia 13 de setembro no Radio City Music Hall, em Nova Iorque, em evento transmitido ao vivo pela MTV.
